Redrow, Oxford Instruments site

Status (as at April 2016): “Site already benefits from detailed consent for 51 dwellings, however new application for 55 dwellings under consideration (15/P/1299/O) and almost complete. Current occupier deems site no longer fit for purpose and intends to relocate elsewhere within North Somerset. Site is a proposed residential allocation in the Sites and Policies Plan Consultation Draft (March 2016). No constraints to delivery immediately following relocation of business, site expected to be developed in full within five years.” – North Somerset Council

Planning application no. 15/P/1299/O  

Redrow submitted a new outline planning application for this site on 26 May – although this only came to light on 16 June. The Weston Mercury reported on the application in its 18 June edition.

This has been on-going since the initial application in 2005, and is subject to the relocation of Oxford Instruments.

  • Just received a letter from NSC Development Mangement Dept advising me that Redrow Homes have submitted another planning application for the Oxford Industries site to build 55 houses instead of previously agreed 51. Haven’t had time to check it out yet but planning application reference is 15/P/1299/O.
